Mr Eternity

Eternity Playhouse (39 Burton St, Darlinghurst)

Words by Olivia Campbell | Sounds by Tom Hogan

The photographer caught the heavy belly of the E and the T with its dancer’s spine and the old man’s smile and his bright sleepless eyes.
Eternity rings out like a sermon on worn 1956 Darlinghurst cobblestone.

About the Artists

OLIVIA RUTH CAMPBELL is a student and writer in Melbourne. She has particular interests in philosophy, linguistics, and debating, and in her free time, loves baking, archery, and martial arts. She sees every part of life as a story waiting to be written, and as an artist, has dedicated herself to capturing as much of every moment as she can. She is currently working on a zine, an artist’s book, and a middle-grade portal fantasy, and hopes to never stop.

TOM HOGAN lives and works on Gadigal land, Sydney. He has released rock songs under his own name, composed music for over 100 performances and installations nationally, and has released several ambient and noise albums under the moniker Arzner. Known for his charismatic and mercurial live performances, Hogan is also an acclaimed theatremaker, podcast producer and composer whose work has been featured in galleries and art festivals around the world. His next project is Mount Hopeless – a tragicomedy musical with musician Elana Stone, about the Burke & Wills expedition.
